* When we say that we cannot use a microtainer or fingerstick/heel blood, the reason is not due to quantity of blood. Some lab tests cannot use capillary blood because there are slight differences in the composition of capillary blood vs. venous blood. These differences would interfere with the function of the test and would cause inaccuracies if performed with capillary blood.
